Donald Trump has confirmed he has bought the Turnberry golf resort.
This is the second major golf resort acquired by the property tycoon in the last three months.
He has purchased the South Ayrshire complex from Dubai-based group Leisurecorp for an undisclosed sum.
Located on more than 800 acres and with views of the Irish Sea and Isle of Arran, Turnberry Resort is home to six world-class restaurants, a luxury spa, a five-star hotel and three link style golf courses. It is understood the course will continue to be managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
In a statement, Donald Trump said: "It is an honour and privilege to own one of golf's greatest and most exciting properties. I intend to invest many millions of dollars (pounds) in order to bring the hotel to the highest levels of luxury.
"When completed, I believe that the Turnberry Hotel will be the finest and most luxurious hotel in all of Europe."
