Essential resurfacing works are to be carried out in East Ayrshire next week.
The work will be undertaken by the Ayrshire Roads Alliance and will see the A735 Queens Drive, Kilmarnock, between the roundabout at the rugby club and the roundabout at the Hurlford Road junction being resurfaced.
The project, valued at £65,000, is part of the Alliance's programme to improve the overall condition of the road network. The scheme will be carried out over four consecutive night, between 8pm and 6am, and will involve planing, regulating, resurfacing and renewing road markings.
As a result of the works, traffic management steps will be in place, and include:
• West-bound traffic being diverted from Queens Drive via Hurlford Road, Campbell Street, Glencairn Street, Armour Street, Old Mill Road re-joining Queens Drive at the Lawson Street junction.
• East-bound traffic continuing as normal along Queens Drive, but a slight delay should be expected while passing through the works.
