Plans for the future development of the Newmills expansion area has been put out for public consultation, Aberdeen City Council has said.

Local residents are now being asked to share their views on the Development Framework.

The sites affected by the proposals include the Craibstone South, Rowett South and Greenferns Landward sites.

The Newhills Expansion Area Development Framework aims to create a residential-led mixed-use urban expansion to the west of the city and would comprise of 4,440 homes, 25% of which would be affordable housing, as well as a Gypsy/Traveller site. A residential-led community with a mixture of house types, three neighbourhood centres and two new primary schools is also proposed, along with children's play areas, playing fields and pitches, multi-use games areas and cross country routes.

The Framework can be viewed at Aberdeen City Council's Headquarters at Marischal College from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and via the local authority's website here.

The consultation period closes at 12 noon on Tuesday 29 April.
