The plans aim to transform the square into a focal point of the town.
Some of the work to renovate the area would include replacing damaged paving slabs and introducing new street furniture such as seating, cycle stands and litter bins. While the design of the square itself is based on a timeline that curves around the space starting from a circle around the Peter Pan statue. The timeline is formed with new granite paving banding inscribed with a text from J.M Barrie's famous work, and the timeline ends with the possible location of a new statue for Ronald Belford "Bon" Scott, which the Kirriemuir-based community group DD8 Music wishes to erect.

Proposals also include curved timber and stainless steel seating along the timeline to match the form of the granite banding. It would feature inset granite squares with engraved relief images highlighting aspects of Kirriemuir's cultural past/present within the paving to bring a sense of local identity to the square.
The drawings will be available to view from Monday (24 March) and can be viewed online.
The public meeting will be held on Wednesday 26 March at the Fire Station in Kirriemuir at 7.30pm.
