Restoration work is to begin next week at St Andrews Town Hall, Fife.

The work will be undertaken by the Council's Building Services Heritage Team and is expected to take around 16 weeks to complete.

Included in the scheme, will be work to the Queens Gardens side of the building and will involve repointing along the length of the building as well as around the turret and end chimney. Restoration will also be carried out to the window above the main entrance and the balcony window, along with partial stone replacement and some pinning above the Polish Soldier memorial.

Scaffolding will be erected outside the building next week in preparation for works beginning.

The local authority has confirmed the town hall will remain open throughout the works.
