ScottishPower Renewables has said work has started on building a series of bespoke mountain biking trails on the site of Whitelee Windfarm.
The trails will be located close to the development's visitor centre and is scheduled to open later this year. It will be set around 500m from the visitor centre and the energy supplier has said it will bring an "exciting dimension" to cycling at the site, as well as adding to the current system of tracks already used by cyclists and runners. There will also be a new viewpoint at Blackwood Hill to explore.
Simon Christian, UK Managing Director for ScottishPower Renewables, said: "The creation of Whitelee has already opened up large sections of the countryside for recreational use and we're looking forward to welcoming more cycling enthusiasts to our mountain bike trails later this year."
