Work is continuing to progress on Dunfermline's new £10.8m museum and art gallery.

At a meeting of the City of Dunfermline Area Committee, a new visual was released of the proposed development, as well as to how it was progressing.

The new modern, purpose-built facility will integrate with the listed buildings on site, including the Dunfermline Carnegie Library.

Commenting after the meeting, City of Dunfermline Area Committee Chair, Councillor Helen Law said: "The flythrough really validates this hugely exciting project, bringing it to life. Many members of the community have already contributed towards delivering Dunfermline's new museum and art gallery. Volunteers have assisted with an onsite archaeological dig, cleaning and packing of the Murison Burns Collection and researching stories that the museum will tell.

"I think this visual representation will help to stir an interest within more locals and visitors to Dunfermline in anticipation of this remarkable facility that will be on offer from July 2016.

"Along with other progress such as the potential cultural hub for the High Street and proposed merger of Dunfermline First with Dunfermline Delivers, it's great to see such a range of cultural developments underway for the city."

Work is expected to begin on site in April 2014.
