New Orkney Hospital Site Chosen

A site has been chosen to build a new Orkney hospital, it has been reported.

According to the BBC, the board of NHS Orkney agreed on a site close to the existing Balfour Hospital and said plans should be drawn up for the site at Scapa.

Feedback from a public consultation on the proposals also suggested strong support for the Scapa option, while a report from board members said the site also scored highest in relation to a technical aspect.
