Moray Council is to carry out roadworks on the B9017 Crooksmill – Newmill – Montgrew Road.
The works, which will commence on 10 February, will include carriageway and drainage improvements. The scheme will be delivered via a phased road closure, while some minor preparatory works could be carried out in advance of Monday's start date.
The programme involves strengthening the carriageway edges and the replacement of a culvert just west of Tarmore Farm.
To minimise disruption, the road closure will be phased as follows:
• Section One – From the junction of the A96 at Crooksmill to the junction of the C74H at Gullyknowes;
• Section Two – From the junction of the C74H at Gullyknowes to Newmill;
• Section Three – From the junction of the C72H at Mill of Newmill to Crossburn Farm.
Advance signing will be in place at each location to advise road users of intended closure dates, while diversion signs will also be installed.
A spokesperson for Moray Council said: "The contractor will endeavour to keep disruption to a minimum and the council apologises for any inconvenience these essential maintenance works may cause."
The works are expected to last until 28 March 2014.
