Fife Council is to start work on a significant carriageway improvement scheme in Main Street Leuchars and on the A919/A914.
Work is set to begin on the project from 10 February, and will continue along the entire length of Main Street to the Leuchars north-west limits. It will then continue along the main A919 route to St Michaels and terminate at the St Michaels north-west limit on the A914.
The planned programme of works will take approximately six weeks to complete.
In addition to the above, the Council has said minor ironworks replacements would commence from Monday 3 February.
As a result of the scheme, a combination of temporary traffic lights and convoy working will be used during the works. Local closures will be required on Main Street in the first two to three weeks but with minimal local diversions required. Weekend side closures of the A914/B945 junction at St Michaels will also be required to allow the safe completion of the carriageway works at that location during possibly the 4th, 5th and/or 6th weekends of the contract, but the main through road – the A914/A919 will remain open under traffic control.
