The A. Proctor Group has said its Wraptite-SA air tight membrane has been used as part of the refurbishment of the Sunshine Mosque Dome in Melbourne, Australia.
The Sunshine Mosque is an Ottoman/Turkish-style mosque in Sunshine, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. The complex structure comprises of 17 domes, a minaret, and a courtyard. The building's existing concrete dome roofs were leaking and needed to be re-roofed in Zinc. As part of this refurbishment, a watertight underlay and separation layer was required to go under the VM Zinc Plus.
The Blairgowrie-based firm provided its product through distributor, Dynamic Composite Technologies, who recommended the use of Wraptite-SA.
Wraptite-SA was an ideal solution to the water ingress problems on such a complex domed roof. As a result, the domes have been restored to their former glory with minimum disruption. The product combines the properties of a vapour permeable membrane and an air-barrier, as the membrane fully bonds to almost any substrate for air tightness and ease of installation, requiring minimal use of sealants or tapes.
