Work at the site of a new road bridge is underway in Aberdeen.
The third Don crossing, will link the Bridge of Don and Tillydrone, providing improved access to the north of the city.
According to the BBC, tree felling commenced in the Gordons Mills Road area this morning as part of the project's preparation works. It is understood a contract for the construction phase will be unveiled in March, with the bridge expected to open in autumn 2015.
The scheme was approved last year after the local authority's ruling party dropped its opposition to the plans, but there has still been criticism of the project from local communities.
