The new crossing of the River Cannich at Muchrachd is now open to the public, the Highland Council has said.
Construction work commenced on the project just after the summer.
The bridge was built by McGregor Construction (Highlands) Ltd in conjunction with their bridge supplier Retro Bridge. It comprises a 120-tonne, 52-metre single span structure, allowing unrestricted traffic to cross the river. The scheme also included realigning the road and improvements to the adjacent forestry access road.
In September 2012, the council imposed an emergency weight restriction on the existing Muchrachd Bailey Bridge due to a significant structural deterioration of the old bridge.
The bridge will provide a life-line route for the residents of Glen Cannich and will also provide a key link for Scottish and Southern Energy access to Mullardoch Dam at the head of the glen.
