The construction of a new school campus has been agreed by Glasgow City Council.
The new facility will be located on the site of the current St Brendan's Primary School in the north west of the city. The campus will also include a new St Brendan's Primary School.
As a result of the decision, Garscadden and Yoker Primary Schools will close, as well as Thirlstane and Kelso nurseries, with a new non-denominational primary school and nursery as part of the campus on the existing St Brendan's site.
The new school campus, which has support from the local area, will also include a community facility managed by Glasgow Life, and members of the public would have access to a dance studio and fitness suite as well as the use of the multi-purpose games hall and all-weather pitch at the weekend and evenings.
Councillor Stephen Curran, Executive Member for Education and Young People, said: "The council has invested over £550 million on school buildings over a 10 year period.
"The new school campuses which we have been building across the city over the last few years are having a major impact on the communities they serve.
"Glasgow is committed to teaching our young people in buildings fit for the 21st century.
"That's why we are rebuilding or refurbishing every primary as well as every remaining nursery or ASL school in the next five years."
