A new state-of-the-art leisure centre has been officially opened in Renfrewshire, sportscotland has said.
The On-X centre, located in Linwood, cost £24m to build and first opened its doors in April 2013.
Facilities at the new building include three swimming pools, including a 25-metre competition pool, a 600 sq m modern fitness suite, a multi-use eight-court sports hall, four well equipped studios, two squash courts and a sand-dressed all-weather floodlit pitch.
Louise Martin CBE, Chair of sportscotland, said: "The facilities on offer at the On-X are absolutely fantastic and it was wonderful to see the centre officially opened.
"sportscotland's investment of £1 million, coupled with our strong partnership with Renfrewshire Council and Renfrewshire Leisure, has helped create a state-of-the-art facility which is already being well-used by the community.
"It is vital that we maximise the opportunities for people to become involved in sport and physical activity, and this investment shows our commitment to developing and supporting a world-class sporting system at all levels, which will inspire future generations to be the best they can be."
The new centre was funded by Renfrewshire Council with support from sportscotland.
