North Ayrshire Council has said repairs to the Witches Bridge in Arran will be carried out in the New Year.
Roadworks are scheduled to begin on Sunday 12 January, and a road closure is required between 9.30am and 3.30pm on the day. The programme of works, which will last for up to 10 days, will see the road re-open under traffic signals for the remainder of the works.
Motorists have been advised to expect lengthy diversions due to the road network on Arran.
The local authority has said it will keep the closure to a minimum, and has been able to reduce the length of the programme of works by arranging for materials to be pre-fabricated off-site ahead of installation.
