Plans for a £13m redevelopment of Aberdeen International Airport have been released.
The three-year project would see the terminal building receive a new security area with more line and new baggage reclaim areas, as well as additional shops and restaurants.
It is understood the extension is to accommodate increasing passenger numbers at the airport.
Managing Director at Aberdeen International Airport, Carol Benzie, is quoted as saying: "This terminal was opened in 1977 and what we are about to embark upon is the biggest change since that time."
Work on the project is scheduled to be completed by 2017.
