Investment For Dundee's Play Areas

Proposals have been put forward for further improvements to be carried out at a number of play areas in Dundee.

The Council's Environment Committee will hear plans for the £33,000 investment next week.

The upgrades are planned for across the city, and include:

  • Castle Green: Installation of climbing nets and sand play equipment to enhance the site, as well as replacing equipment that is beyond economic repair.

  • Malcolm Street: Installation of a new slide and swing equipment to replace existing, which are beyond economic repair.


  • Peebles Drive: Installation of new 'springies' to replace existing, which are beyond economic repair and upgrade the existing surface around the multi-play unit.


  • Rosebank Street: Upgrade weathered surfaces on existing multi-play unit.


  • Wellgate Park: Upgrade existing swing equipment to enhance site.


There are also safety surfacing improvements for various sites in Dundee. There are plans to improve the wetpour play safety surfaces at the following sites, Dochart Terrace, Whitfield Green East and Rosebank Street; with improvements to woodchip safety surfacing under play equipment at Lawton Road, Kilpurnie Place, Lochee Park, Baxter Park, Orchar Park and Clatto Park play areas.
