Draft proposals for how three vacant sites in Dundee could be developed in the future is to be discussed by Councillors.
It is understood land at Haddington East, Whitfield, the former Downfield Primary School annex and the former fire station in Strathmore Avenue are the subject of draft site planning briefs.
The completion of a central street in Whitfield, the construction of the shared services building (The Crescent) and the demolition of surplus council housing at Small Meadow Court have created a development site at Haddington East, the local authority has said in a statement. Now, a mix of housing types and public open space – which would include a play area – are to be recommended in the draft site planning brief.
Housing is also being earmarked for the former Downfield Primary School annex, an area of land which is in council ownership.
For the site at Strathmore Avenue, the buildings have been demolished on the council-owned land, and the current site planning brief has been amended to enable the development of flats on the site.
Will Dawson, Convener of Dundee City Council's City Development Committee said: "We are keen that these areas of land are brought back into a positive use as soon as possible and these documents lay out the council's vision for the type of development we want to see there.
"These will be the subject of consultation with the local community before a final version is approved to guide potential developers on the use that the sites could be put to."
The committee is to consider the planning briefs on Monday 9 December.
