The Highland Council has named a preferred site for its new office headquarters.
It has named the former Fort William Secondary School site on Achintore Road as its preferred option.
The local authority has been looking at its office needs in Fort William, and it said the school site would allow for its main administrative offices, Service Point and Registration Offices in one central location.
The listed building is owned by the Council and has been empty for some time.
If plans go ahead, the site would replace the offices currently occupied by the Council at Lochaber House, Fulton House and Tweeddale.
A report suggesting recommendation for the plans will be considered by members of the Council's Finance, Housing and Resources Committee later this week.
A target of completing the project by 2016 has been set.
