Councillors in Aberdeen are to consider plans for a new housing development in Kingswells.

The development of almost 100 homes will be discussed next week.

The application, made by housebuilder Stewart Milne Homes, has been recommended for approval for the West Huxterstone site.

There are plans for four hose types proposed for the site, ranging from three to five bedrooms. They comprise of eight two-storey detached, four two-storey semi-detached, 29 one-two storey semi-detached and 36 three-storey town houses. There are also 20 two-storey, two-bedroom affordable housing units also planned for the site.

Head of Planning and Sustainable Development, Dr Margaret Bochel, said in her report to the Council Committee: "In terms of the Aberdeen City and Shire Structure Plan, the application is considered to conform to the general principles contained within the objectives 'economic growth,' 'population growth,' 'quality of environments,' 'sustainable mixed communities,' and 'accessibility'."
