Views Sought On Oban Regeneration

Argyll and Bute Council is encouraging Oban residents to put forward their views on the progress of a regeneration project currently underway.

The Oban Bay regeneration project will see the enhancement of the waterfront stretching from Station Square to Stafford Street and North Pier.

There will be a display of design principles during the Winter Festival, from Saturday 23 November to Saturday 30 November (excluding Sunday 24 November), in the White Building, North Pier.

Capita has been selected as the council’s design team.

Feedback questionnaires will be available at the exhibition and through the council website until Friday 6th December.

Policy Lead for Infrastructure, Councillor Ellen Morton, said: "The regeneration of the waterfront is an important part of our investment in Oban. The regeneration project is about improving the area for residents and helping the local economy by providing another reason for people to come to Oban and for them to stay longer. "The waterfront is a key focal point for the town and it’s exciting to look to its future redevelopment."

Argyll and Bute Council, in collaboration with Bid4Oban, are also consulting local businesses in the area.

Feedback will be used to influence the final designs for this council funded project.

The survey is available at www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/oban-waterfront
