Taylor Wimpey has said it has sold all the homes it is constructing this year, partly due to the Government's new Help to Buy scheme.

All of the firm's houses due for completion in 2013 have sold, as well as 30% of those due to be built in 2014, the BBC has reported.

Peter Redfern, Chief Executive at Taylor Wimpey said the recent launch of the Help to Buy in Scotland had a positive effect on the market.

"We are seeing our customers from Edinburgh to Exeter using the scheme to get onto or move up the housing ladder," Mr Redfern explained.

The company added that consumer confidence had also improved and was underpinned by better access to mortgages.

For this year, it has 7,557 homes under construction.
