Fife Council has said it has started work on a new Business Park extension in Glenrothes.
The site, located at Osprey Road, will accommodate the planned new Glenrothes distillery.
The 13.59-acre extension site forms an extension to Whitehill Industrial Estate, and an area of the land will welcome the new whiskey distillery being built by John Fergus and Co Ltd.
Councillor Altany Craik visited the site and said: "It was great to get the opportunity to visit the site this week. I'm sure the local community will be pleased to hear that progress is being made with this project as the new distillery is great news for Glenrothes."
Councillor Laird, Executive Member for Business, Enterprise, Economy & Planning added: "It is great to hear that this project is moving forward and that the council is doing everything to ensure the site is ready to go quickly.
"The work being done here highlights very well one of the key priorities of the council's Economic Strategy showing in Fife we support the business community and are working towards making Fife the best place to do business."
