The Highland Council has said work on a £1.75m project to upgrade the A890 Strathcarron-Balnacra Road is to commence on Monday 18 November.
The local authority has secured funding of £250,000 from the European Regional Development Fund to assist with the funding of the widening of the road to a two-lane carriageway for some 2km. The stretch of road is immediately to the east of the Strathcarron Junction where the road is narrow.
The contract for the project has been awarded to Wills Brothers.
During the road works, traffic will be managed by traffic lights and temporary running surfaces. While no road closures will be in place, motorists are advised to expect delays.
