Scottish Water has been honoured at the Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Awards Scotland 2013/14.
Held at Glasgow's Marriott Hotel, the GO Awards Scotland recognises public sector procurement excellence and also celebrates the role private and third-sector organisations have in supporting the delivery of public services.
For the past six years they have been the benchmark by which progress in public sector commissioning has been measured.
Grahame Steed, Managing Editor of GO, said of this year's Awards: "Yet again, the GO Awards Scotland have showcased the depth of innovation, creativity and commitment in place across the Scottish procurement community.
"The judging panel were impressed with the quality and variety of the submissions, which clearly demonstrate Scotland's leadership in this area. All of the finalists whether public, private or third sector are to be commended for their outstanding work."
On the night, Scottish Water won Team of the Year Award for Other Organisations.
Joe Rowan, the firm's Head of Procurement, said: "We have been on a transformational journey and were awarded the CIPS Gold Award, the first company in Scotland, the first UK utility and the first water company in the world to do that. This award is tremendous recognition for the company and the team. We are absolutely delighted."
