The latest school to benefit from the Scottish Government's £1.25 billion Schools for Future programme has been officially opened.
To mark the occasion, Minister for Children and Young People Aileen Campbell joined Dr John Brown – the Astronomer Royal for Scotland who is a former pupil of the school - for a tour of the new facilities, which will benefit up to 750 pupils.
The Scottish Government invested £10.6 million in the project.
Ms Campbell said: "It's a great privilege to officially open the new Dumbarton Academy. The facilities here are absolutely first rate, from the stunning library to the excellent theatre, and I'm certain pupils will enjoy learning in such a wonderful environment.
"The completion of this school is another great example of the Scottish Government, a local authority and those involved in the construction process working successfully in partnership to deliver a building that will not only benefit pupils, but the wider community."
