West Link Road Application Submitted

The Highland Council has submitted its planning application for the Inverness West Link Road.

When completed, the road will provide a new transport link from the Southern Distributor Road at Dores Road to the A82 trunk road via a fixed link across the River Ness and the Caledonian Canal.

The application, as well as the plans and supporting documents can be viewed on the Highland Council's website, or at their headquarters in Glenurquhat Road and the Inverness Planning Office at Kintail House.

The public has 28 days to comment or respond to the application.

It is hoped the submitted plans will be dealt with early in 2014.

Councillors on the local authority will be asked to consider the plans for the new road, which could cost up to £34m to build. As part of the West Link project, the Council has also proposed creating new sports facilities. These could cost up to £9.5m to construct.
