East Dunbartonshire Council has opened its first BMX track.
The £80,000 track, located at Langfaulds Park in Bearsden, was officially opened by Depute Leader of the Council and Convener of Neighbourhood Services, Ashay Ghai.
For the project, the council employed TRAX SB Jenks, a British Cycling approved BMX track building specialist, to design and construct a track to appeal to both the BMX novice and professional alike.
Speaking at the opening, Councillor Ghai said: "We listened to local young people when they told us they would like to see a track in their area. More than that, we asked for their help to design a facility that matched their needs and we stuck with their ideas throughout.
"Giving young people an option to antisocial behaviour is so important and I hope that this track will be well used by them as well as by families."
