Angus Council has welcomed news of a funding boost to build new social housing in the area.
The Scottish Government is providing an extra £528,000 of grant funding through their affordable housing supply programme, which will take the amount available to the local authority and its partners to £5.199m for the next two years, up to March 2015.
Following the announcement, Angus Council Housing spokesperson, Councillor Donald Morrison said "I am delighted that our request to the government for more funding has been successful. We can never receive enough money to build affordable housing and this will be a boost to those seeking new homes across Angus.
"It will enable us to continue our ambitious programme of building affordable and energy efficient homes, will help reduce the pressure on our waiting list that bit more and will see our registered social landlord partners develop alongside us."
