Aberdeen Builders Make A Date With Potential Employers

Construction firms from Aberdeen are being invited to attend a free 'Meet the Buyer' event at Pittodrie Stadium on 3 October.

The event is designed to help them win work from local clients.

Constructionline – the Government-owned database of contractors – is giving Aberdeen-based small and medium sized companies the opportunity to meet face to face with key procurement decision makers.

Speakers at the event include McLaughlin & Harvey, Lend Lease and Kier Construction who will be discussing how contractors can do business with them and upcoming construction projects. Also at the event, suppliers will be able to attend seminars and hear from speakers such as the Considerate Constructors Scheme and 8degrees on topics such as equality and diversity.

Stephanie Lawrie, Business Development Manager at Constructionline, said: "In our experience local councils and other businesses want to give work to SMEs in their area, and in turn contractors are eager to win these tenders, but it's often challenging for each to gain access to one another.

"This event is designed to offer local construction companies some valuable introductions as well as helping them to learn about upcoming work opportunities, and how they can best win business from buyers on their doorstep."

The event will run from 8.30am until 3pm on Thursday 3 October and suppliers do not have to be a Constructionline member to attend.
