Details of site visits by Councillors looking at planning applications within the Garioch area are to be made available to everyone for the first time.
From Tuesday (27 August), residents in Garioch will be able to see details of planned site visits by the Aberdeenshire Area Committee online.
Up until now, only those involved in the process, or who had registered an interest in a particular planning application, were notified of the visits.
Now, all site visits in the region are to be posted on the council website. It is hoped the move will help increase awareness of the work of the committee among those in the Garioch area.
Chair of Garioch Area Committee, Councillor Sheena Lonchay said: "This is an important step in engaging the public in the work of the committee. Meetings of the Area Committee are open to the public and that includes site visits.
"These visits are incredibly helpful when deciding on a planning application and it is always good to see how any changes will affect the local area either in a positive or negative way."
