The Highland Council has said the management of the A9 trunk road will be discussed at the next East Sutherland and Edderton Ward Forum.
Mr Iain McDonald from BEAR Scotland will be in attendance for the meeting on Monday 26 August.
In April, BEAR Scotland took control of the five-year contract for the maintenance of the A9.
The Ward Forum will provide members of the community to meet Mr McDonald – who is the new Network Manager – as well as discuss the maintenance of the road.
Councillor Deirdre Mackay, Caithness and Sutherland Area Leader, said: "I welcome the opportunity to meet Mr McDonald and to discuss the maintenance of the trunk road in the ward. Unlike other areas, the A9 runs through the heart of three of our communities, so the management of the road is high on the agenda of those communities. I hope there will be a good turnout of local people ready to discuss ideas and any concerns."
Councillor Graham Phillips, who Chairs Highland Council TECS Committee, added: "The Highland Council enjoys a good working relationship with BEAR Scotland at the Highland level. This is a good opportunity for BEAR Scotland and local communities to develop a similar understanding and relationship."
The meeting will be held at the Scout and Guide Hall in Brora, at 7.30pm on Monday 26 August 2013.
