Midlothian Council's new 48-home development, situated at New Park Gardens in Gorebridge, has been named as one of the UK's top 50 affordable housing projects.
The development, valued at £5m and constructed by Lovell Partnerships, secured its spot on the list after being selected by a panel of industry experts organised by Inside Housing magazine.
New Park Gardens was only one of two Scottish developments to receive the prestigious accolade.
The second was Melville Housing Association's £16.5m, 133-home development at Langlaw Road, Mayfield.
The development at Gorebridge is just one of the latest to be completed as part of Midlothian Council's new social housing programme which has seen some 900 houses built at 17 sites across the county.
The development has a beautiful setting, looking across fields to the Pentland Hills, something the judges picked up on, commenting: "This is an example of a Scottish local authority using its own land to create much needed homes in a stunning location."
