Neilston Leisure Centre is to benefit from further improvement works, East Renfrewshire Council has revealed.
The facility is currently undergoing a £350,000 refurbishment project, but the local authority has said further improvements have now been agreed due to the initial works coming in under budget.
The funds that were freed up, will now go towards restoring the changing rooms and spectator area in the centre.
Work on the facility began earlier this year and has stayed on schedule. The additional works mean it will open just a few weeks later than originally planned, with an opening date now scheduled for early September.
Last year, the centre was forced to close as a precautionary measure over concerns regarding its swimming pool cleaning systems. East Renfrewshire Council then approved the £350k budget to replace the systems. The fund has also helped contribute to other improvements, such as roof repairs, new lighting and ceiling in the pool area, replacement main doors, and refurbished stairs and ramp.
Convener for Community Services and Community Safety, Councillor Mary Montague, said: "It is great news that additional funds are available to fund further works in the centre.
"I appreciate this means a slight delay in opening but it will be worth it to deliver even better facilities for the people of Neilston.
"I'd like to thank customers for their patience - I'm sure they'll really enjoy their new, improved centre."
