Essential maintenance is to take place on Galashiels War Memorial Clock from Monday 22 July.
Specialists will upgrade the existing motors, carry out the electrification of the curfew bell winding mechanism and introduce electronic controls for the clock, chimes and curfew bell.
Stuart Mawson, Scottish Borders Council's Property Manager said: "We expect the work to take about a fortnight to complete. It will result in some temporary disruption to the chimes and clock times but this maintenance will ensure it is operating as smoothly as possible for years to come."
The project is expected to cost £2,000.
