Construction on Fife's newest leisure centre is nearing completion as it prepares to open later this summer.
The £21.1m Michael Woods Sports & Leisure Centre in Glenrothes is due to open in late July.
A defect which was detected last month has also been rectified and the final touches are now being made to the facility.
Andy MacLellan, Sports Partnership Manager, said: "Fife Council and Fife Sports & Leisure Trust are keen for this fantastic facility to be open for use as soon as possible. I’m pleased to report that work to correct a defect last month was rectified and the final snagging works are well underway. The facility looks fantastic.
"Customers have been very supportive during the period of disruption and we want the leisure centre to be completed to the highest possible standards before inviting people back into the town’s main sport and leisure facility.
"Whilst we are disappointed that the building won’t be ready for opening sooner we hope the local community recognise the scale and complexity of a construction project such as this."
Elsewhere, in Kirkcaldy, construction work is also progressing on the site of its new £15.3m leisure centre. The building is now watertight following the installation of the big picture window overlooking The Esplanade, so the internal fitting out is moving forward at pace. The sports hall is almost complete while the finishing works to the swimming pools have recently got underway.
