A major roads improvement scheme has started in East Kilbride.
The project is part of the Council's £126m Roads Investment Programme, and will see vital resurfacing improvements carried out.
Work is expected to begin on Greenhills Road today, with additional work beginning on Eaglesham Road later this week, with alternative routes in place for drivers.
The 'Repave' process will be used with both schemes and carried out by Colas Ltd.
Repave is a road recycling technique which reduces CO2 emissions, waste and energy consumption. It also tends to be a quicker process than traditional resurfacing methods.
Councillor Chris Thompson, Chair of the Council's Enterprise Services Committee, said: "We appreciate that these works are on main routes which might cause some disruption to road users.
"Unfortunately the works are of a nature which means there is no other option other than a temporary road closure.
"We would ask that anyone travelling in any of the areas during the times mentioned pays particular attention to the diversion routes which will be clearly signposted. It may also be helpful for road users to leave extra time for their journeys."
