The developments will be in the west of Scotland and will are Ben Lui Place and Glen Lyon Court, in Cumbernauld, and Glen Park Road, in Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire.

The programme is expected to generate around 160,000 hours of green electricity per year, meaning tenants could see their household electricity bills fall by 50%.

Absolute Solar and Wind spent three weeks installing the 2kw systems across the three developments.

Alex McDonald, New Business Director at Absolute Solar and Wind, said: "We were thrilled to work with Keepmoat and Link on this innovative project, which will play a major part in helping to tackle fuel poverty for some of the most vulnerable in our communities

"Rising utility bills and fuel poverty are issues never far from the headlines, and it’s extremely encouraging to see two organisations that are willing to tackle these problems.

"We had a team of 10 working on this project and we are pleased to be finished ahead of schedule."
