Work has started on Inverclyde Council's multi-million pound programme of road and footpath repairs and improvements.

More than £4m is to be invested over the next financial year, as part of the Council's £17m three-year investment.

The proposed projects over the next month, include:

1. The B786, Kilmacolm, between Torr Road and Craigbet Road (completed)

2. The B788 (Milton Road) between the A761 and B786, Kilmacolm (with a provisional completion date of Friday 27 April to allow for inclement weather and the installation of roadmarkings)

3. The B788 between Dougliehill Road and the south extreme of Knocknairshill Reservoir at the Greenock Port Glasgow boundary (with a provisional completion date of Friday 3 May)

4. Gryffe Road, Kilmacolm between the A761 Bridge of Weir Road and Houston Road (with a completion date of Wednesday 15 May)

Detailed plans for a range of routes have been drawn up and prioritised for the first year’s investment, while carriageway and footway projects are for selected lengths of roads.
