Refurbishment work has started on Aberdeen's Tullos swimming pool.
The project is expected to be completed by this autumn.
Robertson Construction Eastern Limited was awarded the contract to carry out the work, which includes:
* retiling of both pools and poolside areas
* repair of all water damage and redecoration of all internal walls
* replacement of the old changing area and basket clothes storage with a modern changing area with attractive cubicles and lockers
* reconfiguration of the entrance area to create a more inviting and obvious entrance from the front of the building
* creation of a welcoming and accessible reception area with noticeboards and vending machines
* new toilets
* reconfiguration of spectator seating to meet disability access requirements
Aberdeen City Council's Convener of Education, Culture and Sport Committee Councillor Jenny Laing, alongside representatives of Torry Community Council, visited the site for a tour.
Speaking about the project, Ms Laing said: "The Council has been keen to keep the local community informed on the development and while the refurbishment is carried out we will continue to engage with individuals and groups in Torry to develop a programme for the facility, which best meets local needs. The pool is going to be a great local asset and I am looking forward to coming back when it opens later in the year."
Sport Aberdeen will manage the swimming pool on behalf of Aberdeen City Council.
