A detailed planning application has been submitted by Holmes Miller for the development of Harris Academy in Dundee.
The proposed state-of-the-art school will deliver a variety of teaching, social and community facilities on site, in Dundee's West Conservation Area.
The new build is to replace the existing B-Listed school building which was constructed in 1926.
Working closely alongside Dundee City Council, the project seeks to follow the practice endorsed by the Scottish Futures Trust by providing a series of flexible and adaptable teaching spaces.
The external design of the build will involve large panels of glass to help maximise natural daylighting, while within the building, a multi-levelled social space will be formed in the centre of the school, with teaching, administration and community facilities branching off.
The project is due to commence on site towards the end of 2013, and is one of the first educational projects to be delivered by Robertson Construction through the East Central Hub.
