Moffat Town Hall is set to be refurbished under a new £600k scheme.

The project will see the local hall fully repaired and refurbished.

A local trust, which has taken over responsibility for the management of the building, developed the project last year.

Repairs to Moffat Town Hall will include a complete renewal of the roof, along with the restoration of stonework and windows. Inside the building, a beam located above the stage is to be repaired, while landscaping work will be carried out at the front of the property.

In 2012, the Moffat Town Hall Redevelopment Trust signed a 21-year lease to take over the management of the facility from the local council.

As part of the agreement, the council is to continue to operate customer services and library provision from the premises, while the trust is responsible for hiring out the building.

The refurbishment is being financed by grants from both Dumfries and Galloway Council and Historic Scotland.
