Shepherd Engineering Services (SES) has secured a prestigious contract to work on a £25m landmark scheme at Edinburgh's Haymarket Station.
SES will work alongside main contractor Morgan Sindall on behalf of Network Rail and Scot Rail.
The contract will see a major transformation of the existing station to help create a full integrated transport hub for the city of Edinburgh, linking train, tram, bus and taxi services.
SES's role will be challenging as the project combines refurbishment of the original listed building as well as an extension which will create a new concourse and platform improvements. As development works get underway, moves will also be taken to ensure the station remains fully operational with passenger disruption kept to a minimum.
Regional Director of SES, Colin Walker, said of the contract: "I am delighted to announce our appointment to such a landmark scheme. We will be providing a complete range of building services installation expertise including lighting, heating and ventilation, IT, security and fire systems to name a few."
It is anticipated that the project will be completed by 2014.
