A Scottish sealant company has announced it has won a contract to provide waterproofing services to the basement of a new Hilton Hotel in Birmingham.
Main contractors Anglo Holt have employed Falkirk-based Site Sealants to design a specification to suit both the new-build and existing aspects of the comprehensive basement waterproofing project.
Basement Living Group has announced that Wykamol products will be used in the renovation of the new hotel on Constitution Hill in Birmingham.
Following several detailed surveys, Site Sealants have formulated a specification and presented it to the main contractor.
This included a complete external system for all new-build elevations as well as a comprehensive cavity drainage system to the internal walls and floors, both new and existing.
The system comprised render and Bituthene 4000 drainage membranes utilised with fillet details and waterstops.
For the essential internal drainage system, Wykamol 8mm was recommended for all walls while Wykamol 20mm waterproofing membrane was selected for use on the floors and the perimeter drainage at the junctions between floors and walls.
The perimeter drain was then connected to the new drainage system to prevent water ingress and provide low-maintenance performance.
Basement Living Group continue to use Wykamol cellar waterproofing products in basement conversions, constructions and excavations.
