Insulation Firm Fits Lothian Social Housing

A Dumfries and Galloway based insulation company has recently completed contracts for two Lothian-based social housing providers.

Eco Insulate carried out retro-fit work to solve problems of damp, mould and condensation for Lothian Housing Association and Edinburgh’s Prospect Community Housing.

The company sprayed and injected icynene foam to ensure the air tightness and insulation of the properties, thereby improving the heat-retention of the properties and the health and well-being of the occupiers.

Eco Insulate says the works were carried out while tenants remained in the property, thereby causing minimum disruption during the process.

Bryan Woods, Eco Insulate Ltd’s Managing Director said: "Successful completion of these projects followed several months' individual discussion with the respective Clients to explain the product and process involved.

"For example although Icynene foam is a lightweight material, Prospect Community Housing also sought the views of a Consultant Engineer to ensure the existing roof structure would not be subject to any additional loads likely to cause problems."

Eco Insulate commented that previous attempts to solve insulation and damp problems in the properties had relied on more conventional methods and were proving ineffective.

The company operates throughout Mainland Scotland, The Western Isles, Orkney, Shetland, Tyne and Wear, North and South Yorkshire and Wales.
