Lovell is building 150 new council homes near Whiteside in Bathgate, West Lothian, in a £12.3 million scheme for West Lothian Council.

One of the largest new-build council housing sites in Scotland, the scheme at Little Boghead is part of the council's new-build housing programme which will eventually create 800 new council homes.

Lovell is building a variety of homes at the Bathgate development, ranging from one-bedroom flats to five-bedroom houses. There will be nine accessible bungalows for residents who use wheelchairs. The development is set to be completed in spring 2015.


Leader of West Lothian Council, Councillor John McGinty says: "It's very satisfying to know that this large development is now under way, which will provide much-needed housing for generations of West Lothian residents.

"Demand for affordable housing is high across the country and West Lothian is no different to other areas in that respect. However, West Lothian has the fastest growing population in Scotland and it is vitally important that we continue to invest in housing. When I speak to constituents, affordable housing is one of the most important issues that they want to discuss, highlighting how important developments such as the one here in Little Boghead are to the people of West Lothian."
