A £110m emergency care centre has been completed in Grampian.
The new centre, one of the largest in Europe, has been completed on time and within budget.
The development is the result of a three-year construction project by Robertson.
The company used a technique during construction which had never been done before in the UK on this scale.
Hundreds of service modules to supply mains services were pre-fitted to modular frames which also incorporated the plasterboard partition elements above the ceiling.
This meant electricians and other labourers did not need to work in confined spaces during construction.
A logistics company was also used to deliver materials and equipment, including 500 miles of wire and 50 miles of pipe, delivered on a 'just-in-time' basis. This was undertaken due to the logistics of storing the materials on-site.
Robertson will now undertake the redevelopment of two adjacent hospital buildings.
This £21m project starts on site in December 2012 and is due for completion in August 2014.
The hospital building will be fully operational to staff and patients by December. The final stage of the project will begin in January.
Andy McPherson, Senior Project Director for Robertson, said: "Finishing the centre on time and on budget stands testament to not only the drive and determination of the Robertson team but also to the strong collaborative culture within the overall project team.
"By any measure; safety performance, budget, programme, quality, client satisfaction, the project has been a major success. All the people involved will be proud of what has been achieved over the last few years and will reflect fondly on being part of a successful project team."
