The National Construction College (NCC) Scotland has been awarded a 98% mark in a health and safety audit.
The British Safety Council (BSC) five star Health and Safety Audit is an internationally recognised award.
As a reward for achieving one of the highest scores in the history of the award, NCC Scotland was awarded the prestigious Sword of Honour.
The Audit Report on the Glasgow based college highlighted NCC’s commitment to health and safety across the site, a motivated and committed safety department team, strong monitoring procedures and high levels of expertise among instructors and teachers.
NCC was also credited for it departmental risk assessment process and its level of safety knowledge.
Andy Walder, Director of NCC, said: "This is a great result and a tribute to the work that everyone in NCC Scotland has put into creating a working and learning environment that leads the way in the construction industry.
"It's an accolade which I'm determined to match on all our sites," he said.
"The East of England NCC in Bircham and NCC Scotland have now achieved the goal and we are working to make sure that the remaining three join suit in the near future."
Mr Walder added: "The NCC promotes high standards throughout the industry. To do this successfully we need to be credible. This means delivering the highest quality teaching and learning and ensuring that we provide excellent facilities and have exceptional standards for health and safety."
