An employee of Aberdeen-based Aiken Group has scooped a prestigious training accolade.

Lee Youngson was recently named best third year refrigeration apprentice at the 2012 Tullos Training awards ceremony and received his certificate from guest speaker, George Yule. Aberdeen-born Lee is a refrigeration engineer and joined Aiken Group in 2009.

Commenting on Lee’s success, Aiken Group HR manager, Christine Bateman, said: “The company has a long history of nurturing young talent in the industry and we operate an almost constant recruitment drive, offering opportunities for graduates and apprentices as frequently as possible.

She added: "We are very proud of Lee’s hard work and all that he has achieved, and we look forward to supporting him as he continues to progress in his career."

Aiken Group is a leading multi-discipline company specialising in accommodation upgrades, refurbishments and new-builds worldwide. It is headquartered on Crombie Road in Aberdeen and the 25-year-old company employs 64 staff at its Aberdeen headquarters, plus around 100 contractors worldwide.
